First with a wooden peg – then with a pen
Do not hold the pen too hard or to lose – that’s especially important for learning how to write. Retracing the depression encourages the eye-hand-coordination, concentration as well as the fine motor skills and is perfect as “dry practice” for pre-schoolers. You can turn the board 90°/180°/270° and retrace the depressions the other way round. With a water soluble pen (not incl.) skilled children can start to retrace shapes on the board in the blank line above.
