Identifies and groups the different positions of the objects around its master record, recognizing the different perspectives of each object.
PEDAGOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The educational content of this material is based on learning the different PERSPECTIVES from which
the same object can be viewed. Through handling the photo-cards of the five basic perspectives of each
object (from the front, from behind, from above, from below and from the side), the child is encouraged
to create a mental image of the object in THREE DIMENSIONS and the mental rotation of the image is
enhanced. The objects represented in the photos are easy for the child to identify and name, and also to
determine what they are used for. They are part of the child’s context and familiar to the environment in
which the child lives. The dynamics of the game mean that while the child is working with twodimensional
pictures in a simple and enjoyable way he/she is becoming aware of the different
PERSPECTIVES from which the same object can be viewed and can interiorise the concept of
INVARIABILITY OF OBJECTS, as well as developing the capacity to ORIENTATE HIM/HERSELF in
different ways with regard to the objects.
The ASSOCIATION of the five cards showing the different perspectives of the same object also
encourages the child’s skills in term of IDENTIFYING, GROUPING and CLASSIFYING objects by
noting their physical characteristics, thus developing his/her capacity for OBSERVATION at a young
age.
It is also an excellent means of DEVELOPING LANGUAGE USE and extending the child’s
VOCABULARY
